Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses with patient flow, room preparation, and routine clerical tasks. You will document vitals, allergies, and medications in the EHR and assist with scheduling, referrals, and care coordination.

The ideal candidate has a medical assistant or phlebotomy program background, strong English communication, and a willingness to work across satellite offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 1–4 years related work experience is preferred for this role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire is required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts the patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and accurate vital signs documentation.
• Updates medication lists and allergies in the EHR, documents appropriately.
• Schedules appointments and manages entries in the PMS and EHR.
• Provides referrals and ensures proper use of the practice management system.
