Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care in Michigan. You will welcome patients, document histories and vital signs, assist with exams and tests, and coordinate care within a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited MA program (or equivalent) and CPR certification; EMT/Paramedic credentials are acceptable. Day shifts with opportunities for growth and patient-focused care are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship; MA Internship; EMT; Paramedic; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs if credentialed.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification, or EMT with current/active MI license, or Paramedic with MI license.
• Valid CPR certification.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC certification.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0–1 year clinical experience or equivalent; or 2+ years without completed MA program.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
