Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinicians in delivering high quality patient care. You will work with patients directly, assist with exams and testing, and help coordinate care across the team.

Ideal candidates hold MA credentials or related EMT/Paramedic qualifications, CPR certification, and 0–1 year of clinical experience, or 2+ years in a community clinic. Day shift responsibilities emphasize empathy and patient education.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED with MA-related program/externship/internship, EMT or Paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-credentialed options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Minimum experience: 0–1 year clinical experience or 2+ years in community clinic with testing/assessment.
• Credentialed MA or EMT/Paramedic with Michigan license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prep patients for appointments.
• Record patient histories, vitals and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures and testing.
• Administer medications and diagnostic tests as directed.
• Communicate results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to improve outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement and disease management programs.
