Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage patient flow, document vitals, and support clinical and clerical tasks. You will work under providers to ensure efficient examinations and proper record entries.

The role requires MA certification (or completion of training) and BLS CPR, with 2+ years of clinic support experience and EMR familiarity. You will handle specimen preparation, scheduling, and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Medical Assistant or have completed MA training.
• If no certification at hire, must obtain MA certification within 18 months.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Minimum 2 years' prior experience providing clinical support in a medical office.
• Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms promptly.
• Review charts to ensure reports and results are available.
• Obtain and document patient chief complaint and vitals.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures and treatments.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for labs.
• Document all activities in the medical record.
• Schedule future appointments, surgeries, and/or tests.
