Job summary

The role requires proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG and injections, EMR experience, and strong teamwork. You will document patient information, schedule follow-ups, and adhere to infection control and confidentiality policies. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Medical Assistant. If not certified at hire, must have completed a medical assistant training program or two years of MA experience.
• AHA BLS CPR required at hire.
• Proficiency in basic clinical skills (phlebotomy, BP, EKG, injections).
• Knowledge of infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam room promptly and courteously.
• Reviews patient chart for required reports and results before exam/treatment.
• Obtains and documents patient chief complaint and vitals (height, weight, BP).
• Prepares exam/procedure room with supplies for visit.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Draws blood and collects specimens; routes to labs.
• Documents all activities in the medical record; communicates with patients per provider.
• Schedules future appointments, surgeries, or tests; follows up as needed.
• Adheres to infection control and confidentiality policies; phones prescriptions as instructed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
