Qualifications

• 1 year Medical assistant preferred.
• 2 years Clerical/customer service experience -ideally in a health care related industry preferred.
• 1 year experience with third party payors and computer data entry for patient demographics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and directs messages to appropriate personnel and liaises with other departments and providers.
• Maintains patient scheduling functions and sets appointments per guidelines.
• Interviews and completes patient registration for the service.
• Enters patient dispositions, clinical codes, orders, charges and payments in the EMR.
• Performs cashiering for co-pays and patient payments; may perform routine clerical duties.
• Perform venipuncture and administer routine medications under supervision.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
• Perform basic laboratory procedures including taking vitals.
• Provide excellent customer service for patients and families and treatment team.
