Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• ICD-9 and CPT coding, completion of a standard terminology course is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Register patients and collect demographic and financial information.
• Obtain signatures and documentation for billing/insurance.
• Order laboratory tests as directed by physicians.
• Perform end-of-day disposition and gather statistics.
• Answer department phone lines; greet patients.
• Serve as liaison between patients, nurses and physicians.
• Provide excellent customer service under supervision of a licensed physician.
