Job summary

ChenMed’s Medical Assistant (Care Promoter 1) role supports physician-led care teams in primary care centers. The role blends administrative and clinical duties, including vital signs, basic labs, patient coaching, and medication handling under physician supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA/EMT program, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. BLS is required; EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT or Paramedic program required.
• A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT or Paramedic required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
• EMR system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measures and records patient vital signs and medical history.
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists physician with exams.
• Performs routine screening tests and basic waived labs.
• Assists with prescribing processes under physician supervision (ChenMed Rx system).
• Provides health coaching and follows up with coached patients via weekly calls.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and medical instruments; documents accurately.
