Job summary

Wellstar Cherokee Health Park is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging and patient support. The role offers a predictable schedule with flexibility and a focus on compassionate care within a fast-paced radiology team.

The position requires 1+ year mammography experience in a hospital, an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and ARRT certifications. Eligible candidates may receive relocation assistance and access to Wellstar CareerCare programs

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) ARRT-M (Mammography) BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two identifiers.
• Gather patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy and comfort; assist with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness; maintain first‑time acceptance rate.
• Operate mammography equipment safely; optimize dose and technique; keep equipment clean per guidelines.
• Perform and document QC tests (ACR/MQSA) and DICOM labeling checks.
