Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Minnesota and maintain licensure.
• Current CPR certification preferred; if not certified, must obtain by end of orientation.
• Two or more years of geriatric care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe clients and report any changes in physical, social or emotional condition.
• Communicate promptly with physicians and nurse practitioners when condition changes require medical interventions.
• Assist with ordering and setup of client medications.
• Monitor unlicensed staff and provide guidance to complete duties professionally and timely.
• Assist in evaluating job performance of unlicensed staff with the Registered Nurse.
• Assist in training new employees as directed.
• Identify and respond to emergencies; initiate emergency treatment.
