Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to care for a group of residents per physician orders and regulatory standards. The role involves medication administration, vital signs, assessments, and collaboration with the care team in a hospital-like skilled nursing setting.

We require current LPN licensure in the state, CPR certification, and strong communication. Prior long-term care experience is preferred; flexible scheduling and potential overnight travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area and care spaces are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Directs and supervises day-to-day CNA services for assigned unit to assure quality care.
• Performs resident assessments/observations and reviews care plans to ensure appropriate care.
• Takes and records residents' blood pressure and vital signs; administers catheter care, IV therapy, and respiratory care as ordered.
• Transcribes physician orders to MAR, Kardex, and care plans; prepares and administers medications.
• Documents nurse notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Completes admission/transfer/discharge forms.
• Maintains safe environment; addresses safety risks.
• Provides shift reports and recommendations.
• Monitors and implements care plans; suggests updates to IDT as needed.
