Job summary

Indian Hills Animal Clinic is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding operations. The role includes caring for patients, following doctor or technician instructions, and maintaining clean, safe kennels and wards.

Responsibilities include walking and feeding pets, recording feeding schedules and behavior, and assisting with patient discharge. Weekend availability is required; the clinic offers PTO, health and retirement benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; with assistance for heavier lifts.
• OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provides great care for patients visiting the practice for grooming and/or boarding.
• Ensures patients are admitted with client instructions for a quality outcome.
• Records patient information accurately and legibly.
• Observes patient condition for signs of illness or discomfort.
• Handles and restrains patients as needed.
• Walks patients several times a day for exercise and elimination.
• Provides appropriate food and fluids as required.
• Ensures patients are clean and prepared for discharge; returns personal property.
• Maintains kennels and areas clean and free of odor; cleans related equipment.
• Launders towels and blankets; manages waste and sanitation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
