Job summary

Mount Carmel Pet Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding operations under the Practice Manager and Head Kennel Tech. You will care for patients visiting for boarding, clean and sanitize kennels, and assist with feeding and medications as directed.

This role requires weekend availability, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and adherence to PPE safety practices. Previous veterinary experience is preferred to ensure compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Prior veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; can lift with assistance.
• Follows OSHA safety techniques and uses proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for grooming and/or boarding patients.
• Records feeding schedules, appearance and behavior during visits.
• Ensures cages, runs and wards are clean and safe; handles patient restraint as needed.
• Walks patients, assists with exercise and elimination.
• Ensures proper identification and property handling upon discharge.
