Job summary

POWER Recovery is seeking an Intake Specialist to act as the first point of contact for clients seeking treatment. You will coordinate referrals, conduct screenings, schedule assessments, and facilitate admissions with compassion and professionalism.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, HIPAA compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely access to care and a welcoming client experience across POWER programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, healthcare admissions, intake coordination, case management, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, electronic health record systems, SharePoint, and other business applications.
• Knowledge of confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA regulations.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Act 73, 33, and 34 Clearances (required for all POWER positions).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Respond promptly to referral inquiries and treatment access requests; educate partners on programs and admissions.
• Schedule assessments, coordinate with clinicians, and convey appointment details to clients.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers, verify required documentation and consents.
• Maintain compliant documentation in EHR and ensure confidentiality and HIPAA adherence.
• Provide trauma-informed client engagement and compassionate service to support access to care.
