Job summary

PC Behavioral Health in Tacoma is seeking a Home Care Aide to provide compassionate, non-medical support to clients with developmental disabilities and seniors.

You will follow the client’s Plan of Care, assist with daily living activities, and help with transportation and home tasks in a respectful, patient manner. This on-site role emphasizes safety and caregiver boundaries, with training opportunities in mental health.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal).
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be physically and mentally capable of caring for ill, infirm, disabled or vulnerable individuals; inform supervisor of restrictions.
• Understanding of professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Care for clients with developmental disabilities or seniors requiring non-medical assistance.
• Implement the client's Plan of Care.
• Assist with daily living activities (feeding, dressing, bathing, toileting, mobility, positioning) and transportation.
• Provide family with support in housekeeping, shopping, meal planning and preparation as needed.
• Provide protective supervision and ensure client safety.
• Perform Community First Choice tasks within the client’s living situation; assist in respite care when required.
