Job summary

Home or Away LLC in Harris County is seeking a dependable Personal Care Aide to provide essential, hands-on support for clients' daily living and personal care needs in their homes. You will work one-on-one with clients and their families as a vital part of the daily care team, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity.

Core duties include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and careful documentation.

Qualifications

• Background in home care, assisted living, or memory care preferred.
• Experience with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or developmental disabilities (Autism/IDD) is a plus.
• A solid understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy standards.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Capability to safely assist with physical tasks and manual transfers.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, families, and supervisors.
• A patient, reliable, and genuinely compassionate professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Daily Living Support: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and safe mobility (ADLs).
• Health Advocacy: observe and report changes in client condition or wellness.
• Nutritional Care: prepare meals based on dietary requirements and provide feeding assistance.
• Home Environment: light housekeeping (laundry, tidying, organizing) for a safe living space.
• Transportation: safe transit for medical appointments and errands.
• Safe Handling: transfers and repositioning for comfort and safety.
• Clear Documentation: maintain accurate records of care activities and observations.
