Job summary

Home or Away is seeking a dependable Personal Care Aide to provide hands-on support for clients in their own homes, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. You will work one-on-one with clients and their families as a vital part of the daily care team.

The role requires experience in home care, knowledge of dementia/Alzheimer's, HIPAA compliance, and current CPR/First Aid certifications, with a compassionate, patient approach and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Prior home care experience and comfort with hands-on daily tasks
• Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and developmental disabilities a plus
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy standards
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required before start date
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily activities safely
• Strong communication with clients, families, and supervisors
• Patient, reliable and compassionate professional attitude

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and safe mobility (ADLs).
• Observe and report changes in client condition or wellness to the care team.
• Prepare meals per dietary needs and assist with feeding when needed.
• Light housekeeping to maintain a safe living space.
• Provide safe transportation to medical appointments and errands.
• Perform transfers and repositioning to ensure comfort and safety.
• Keep accurate, detailed records of care activities and observations.
