POSITION SUMMARY

The Catholic Charities of St. Louis Good Shepherd Children and Family Services Housekeeper cleans dining rooms, lobbies, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, conference/family rooms, and offices, at Good Shepherd Children & Family Services.

• All floor care includes dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, and draperies.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors.
• Cleans furniture includes upholstered furniture, desktops, and tabletops.
• Cleans lobbies, lounges, restrooms, hallways, and stairways.
• Dusts furniture and high and low area of walls. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays. 8)
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replace light bulbs.
• Observes and reports all safety and maintenance deficiencies.
• Sets up cafeteria and events.
• Help the organization meet its quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting requirements by contributing to developing outcomes, participating in data collection, interpreting data, and applying it to improve practices and outcomes.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1) High School Diploma or GED.

2) 1-3 months related experience.

3) Be team oriented and able to work independently. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED 1) Ability to read a limited number of 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

4) Ability to follow instructions given.

5) Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

6) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

7) Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

8) Regularly required to stand and talk or hear.

9) Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

10) Occasionally required to walk and sit.

11) Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

12) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
