South Shore Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to deliver prompt, courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff. Under the Manager of Patient Transport and Visitor Services, you will safely transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers and assist with lab specimens and equipment as needed.

You’ll collaborate with nursing and clinical teams, monitor patient safety and comfort, follow infection prevention guidelines, and document transport activities.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
• Position requires being on your feet most of the shift.
• Provide a high level of customer service to patients and staff.

Responsabilités

• Safely transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
• Assist with patient transfers using slide boards, gait belts, and other equipment.
• Monitor patient comfort and condition during transport; report changes to nursing staff.
• Discharge patients following proper procedures and transport to entrance or departure lounge as needed.
• Transport lab specimens, x-ray reports, and medical records between departments.
