Job summary

North Shore Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Transporter to move patients between departments and ensure safe, efficient transfers. You will work closely with nursing staff to transport adults and geriatric patients while maintaining equipment and providing friendly service.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma, BLS certification, CPI training, and prior hospital transport experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification
• CPI - On the Job Training
• Prior hospital or other healthcare experience as a Transporter, Aide, or Orderly preferred.
• Effective communication skills in the English Language
• Preferred transport experience.
• Must be accurate with names and numbers
• Must be self-motivated once job duties are learned and should be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from Emergency Services and hospital departments.
• Maintain transport equipment and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Cross-trained to clerical and film file room duties.
