Qualifications

• Fosters a culture of safety and adheres to hospital safety policies.
• Assists with patient handling using wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds with proper technique.
• Communicates clearly with nursing staff and patients, providing reassurance as needed.
• Operates dispatch software and SSH device to receive transport orders and document services.
• Attends mandatory in-services and CPR training; keeps up-to-date with policies.
• Maintains patient privacy and complies with SSH privacy and security programs.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and transports patients between departments within designated times.
• Transports lab specimens, x-ray reports, and medical records using proper handling procedures.
• Discharges patients following procedures and ensures safe handoffs at designated locations.
• Documents transport activities and coordinates with clinical staff to ensure patient safety.
