Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is seeking an experienced hospice aide for full-time days to provide essential personal care to patients in the comfort of their homes. You will follow the plan of care set by the nurse, assist with activities of daily living, prepare meals, and support families with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Eligible candidates will possess a current CNA and CPR certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• CNA certification current with state requirements.
• CPR certification current.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to personal care, transfers, ambulation and positioning.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals; assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions for care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
