Job summary

VitalCaring Group in Mississippi is seeking a Hospice Chaplain / Spiritual Counselor to provide compassionate spiritual care and emotional support to patients and families at end of life. You will tailor care to beliefs and values, guiding through grief with dignity and presence.

You will work autonomously within an interdisciplinary team, document care in the EMR, and coordinate with local clergy to ensure holistic, patient-centered care across diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or theology program with BD/MDiv or equivalent.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy of care and end-of-life support.
• Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
• Comfort working in interfaith settings and with diverse beliefs.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and listening skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assess spiritual and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Develop and support individualized spiritual care plans.
• Provide spiritual counseling, grief support, and compassionate presence.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team care planning and documentation.
• Coordinate visits from clergy and faith leaders when appropriate.
