Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a PRN hospice aide to provide compassionate personal care to patients in their home environments in Pooler, GA. You will support with activities of daily living, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include observing patient status, following care plans, and documenting changes. A valid CNA and CPR certification along with a valid driver''s license are required; previous CNA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification as per state requirements.
• CPR certification required.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Valid driver''s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to ambulation, transfer, ROM and positioning, and housekeeping.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; reports to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follows written instructions for personal care as per the plan of care.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
