Job summary

Care Initiatives Hospice in Cedar Rapids seeks a compassionate Hospice Aide to deliver essential care for patients in home, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings. You’ll meet patients and families where they are to provide comfort, dignity, and respect at this meaningful stage of life.

Responsibilities include helping with daily living activities, offering companionship, communicating with families and the healthcare team, and supporting recreational and therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

• Hospice/Home Health Aide/CNA in last 24 months (preferred).
• Hospice or palliative care experience (preferred).
• Active CPR certification (required).
• Current driver's license and ability to travel between multiple locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPN) within 24 months).

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating).
• Deliver emotional support and companionship.
• Interact with residents, families and healthcare team.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
