Care Initiatives Hospice in Des Moines is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to assist patients in their final stages of life. You will provide routine personal care and companionship, meeting patients where they are most comfortable—at home, in facilities, or a hospital—while collaborating closely with families and the healthcare team.

The role emphasizes emotional support, dignity, and respect, with opportunities to grow your credentials, including CHPN certification within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Experience working as Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or CNA is preferred.
• Hospice or palliative care experience is preferred.
• Active CPR certification is required.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel between multiple locations within your region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification (CHPN) within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Interact with residents, families, and healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to promote health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment.
