Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Deaconess Hospice is seeking a Hospice Aide to provide personal care and assist with daily living activities so clients can remain in their own homes.

Responsibilities include helping with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, errands, and documenting client conditions. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; CPR certification preferred within 90 days; 6+ months home care experience; flexible hours and independent work encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• 6+ months of home care experience
• Ability to work flexible hours and independently

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders
• Support household tasks, meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed
• Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use EVV system
• Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
