Job summary

Qualifications

• Formal training as a personal care aide per state and federal law and regulation.
• Training program must meet minimum requirement of 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene including mouth and hair care, toileting, ambulation and exercise, eating, dressing, shaving, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment in the patient’s home.
• Assist with devices for daily living such as a wheelchair or walker.
• Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.
• Keep records of personal health care activities and report to the RN.
• Assist with self-administration of medication as assigned by the RN.
• Abide by the agency's Code of Conduct; avoid skilled nursing tasks unless authorized by a licensed professional.
• Call RN supervisor and 911 if needed after any fall or injury.
