Job summary

Optum's Mederi Caretenders home health team is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide occupational therapy within the plan of care and under the supervision of an OT. You will assess, treat, and educate patients and families in various home settings to maximize physical function.

You will follow state laws, document responses, and collaborate with nurses and physicians while delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for following all state laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, within the supervising OT's plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the OTA and state laws.
• Observes, records, and reports patient response to treatment to nurse supervisor and physician.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health-care team members in therapy areas within OTA scope.
• Function in diverse home environments regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
