Job summary

Optum CAREtenders, a member of the UnitedHealth Group family, is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant for home care services. The OTA will provide therapy to help patients regain maximal physical abilities, following the supervising OT's plan and complying with state regulations.

The role emphasizes working with patients and families, documentation, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to support comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
• Must be certified and in good standing with NBCOT.
• CPR certification preferred or to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care; follow the supervising OT's treatment plan.
• Instruct and assist patients in evidence-based therapy within the OTA scope and state laws.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses to treatment to Nurse Supervisor and physician.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and health team members on therapy areas within OTA scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and treat patients without discrimination.
