Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring for a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide in-home care in Staunton, Virginia. You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor health status, and support the care plan under nurse oversight.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current state CNA certification required.
• CNA experience within the last two years; successful completion of competency program.

Responsibilities

• Obtains temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
• Assists patient with bed mobility, bathing, hygiene, and toileting.
• Prepares and assists with meals.
• Performs light homemaking and environmental tasks.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status.
• Recognizes emergencies and follows procedures per policy.
• Follows infection control and safety procedures.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
