Job summary

Home Or Away is seeking a dependable Personal Care Aide to provide hands-on support for clients' daily living and personal care needs in their homes. You will work one-on-one with clients and their families as a vital part of their daily care team.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and safe mobility, monitor health, prepare meals and maintain a clean, safe home environment. Strong communication and compassionate care are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Background in home care, assisted living or memory care preferred.
• Specialized knowledge of dementia/Alzheimer's or developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy standards.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Capability to safely assist with physical tasks and transfers.
• Strong interpersonal communication with clients, families and supervisors.
• Patient, reliable and compassionate professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and safe mobility (ADLs).
• Observe and report changes in client condition or wellness.
• Prepare customized meals and provide feeding assistance when necessary.
• Manage light housekeeping to maintain a safe living space.
• Provide safe transit for medical appointments and errands.
• Perform secure transfers and repositioning for client comfort.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of care activities and observations.
