Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical in-home support to seniors, helping them stay at home with flexible hours from 10 to 40 hours weekly. No prior experience required, with training and California registration supported.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with ADLs, mobility, meals, medication reminders, and light housekeeping, while maintaining safety and compassionate customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry.
• Clear criminal background check and disclosure of any history.
• Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training before client care.
• TB test and verification of no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill and frail.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs within the scope for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Help with personal hygiene (skin, mouth, hair care, bathing, dressing).
• Assist with transfers and ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises.
• Meal planning and preparation; assist with eating.
• Assistance with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks: housekeeping, laundry, transportation, shopping, companionship.
• Assist with medication reminders as applicable.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Complete records of services performed.
• Drive to appointments or run errands.
• Record all hours worked accurately.
• Remain alert and respond to client needs; contact the Company for guidance.
• Participate in training requirements.
• Maintain active home care aide registration with the State CA HCA Registry.
• Other duties as assigned by the administrator.
