Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in New York is seeking a compassionate Resident Service Assistant/Home Health Aide to provide hands-on care and companionship to residents in a respectful and dignified manner.

In this role you will assist with Activities of Daily Living, accompany residents to meals and activities, and support their physical, emotional, and psycho-social well-being; full-time weekend rotation included.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide certification is required.
• Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia is a plus.
• Must be able to speak and read in English.
• Previous experience with geriatric population and ADLs preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain patient, calm care with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Escort residents to meals and recreational activities.
• Support residents in achieving their highest physical, emotional and psycho-social well-being.
• Help in Wellness area to ensure safety, comfort and wellbeing of residents.
• Follow all policies and procedures, and adhere to the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness.
