Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant in Knoxville, TN. The role supports funeral operations with clerical and administrative duties, assists with services, and interacts with families with compassion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services including delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance as directed by management.
• Assist with respectful preparation of remains, including dressing or lifting per law and company policy.
• Handle office duties: phones, fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, postage, and media equipment.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies; assist with visitation and services.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups; assist with parking and transportation as needed.
• Ensure refreshments are available where permitted.
• Greet client families; provide information and assistance at office entry.
