Job summary

Service Corporation International in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an organized, compassionate customer-service associate to support funeral directors and location managers. You will handle first calls, coordinate with families, prepare documents, and assist with services and removals with care and attention to detail.

This role requires strong communication, computer skills, and the ability to work beyond standard hours, including weekends, to assist families during difficult times.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification/License may be required.
• 2 years in an office clerical or customer service role.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-focused environments preferred.
• Funeral industry experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet regularly with Funeral Director(s) to ensure customer needs are met.
• Coordinate activities with families and internal staff.
• Take first calls and dispatch removal teams.
• Handle vital information, death certificates and insurance claims.
• Schedule appointments for Funeral Directors.
• Design and print memorials and arrange documents.
• Order merchandise, flowers, urns; coordinate services with churches and cemeteries.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of funeral/visitation areas and events.
• Transport remains to Crematory; deliver ashes as needed.
• Work hours may extend beyond standard business hours, including weekends.
