Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking an attentive Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and operational support for funeral services at our Atlanta-area location. You will greet families, assist with arrangements, and coordinate service logistics with compassion and professionalism.

The role includes preparing services, assisting with remains, handling office duties, and driving duties as needed. A valid driver’s license and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; ability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes.
• Assists with respectful preparation of remains per management directions.
• Answers phones and performs general office duties using office equipment.
• Runs errands for floral deliveries and supplies as needed.
• Acts as an usher, may park cars, and handles transportation requirements for services.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where legally allowed.
• Assists with visitations, memorials, and funerals: chapel setup, dressing remains, delivering items.
• Greets and assists client families entering the office.
• Accommodates family needs during services and visitations.
• May wash and clean funeral home vehicles.
