Job summary

Service Corporation International in Florida is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations and to assist families during services and visitations.

The role requires a high school diploma, customer service experience, proficiency with MS Office, and a valid driver’s license; you will greet families, manage phones, help with ceremonies, and drive funeral home vehicles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares service documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating office equipment and handling documents.
• Runs errands for floral delivery, supplies, and documents.
• Serves as an usher and may perform parking/transportation duties.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assists with visitations, memorial and funeral services and related setup.
• Greets and assists client families entering the office with information.
