Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant in Thomasville, NC to provide clerical support and assist with funeral operations. You will interact with families, answer questions, and help with services and ceremonies.

Attendance at monthly staff meetings is expected. Responsibilities include preparing services, handling documents, assisting with remains, driving vehicles as needed, and ensuring smooth operations within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: arranging floral, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance.
• Assists with preparation of remains per policy and law.
• Performs general office duties: phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone, card machine, etc.
• Run errands for supplies, flowers, documents, etc.
• Acts as usher; may park cars or handle transportation needs.
• Operates funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services, including setup and dressings.
• Greets and assists client families and visitors.
