Job summary

Sci Corp is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant in Ohio to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will engage with client families, answer questions, and help coordinate services and ceremonies under management direction.

The role involves assisting with visitation, cremation, and service logistics, and requires compassion, clear communication, and a respectful, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior customer service or sales experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and databases is preferred; willingness to learn is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up flowers, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes.
• Prepare service-related documents for funerals, cremations, and maintenance.
• Assist with handling remains per laws and regulations and assist in crematory operations when permitted.
• Perform office duties: phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit card machine, etc.
• Run errands for floral deliveries and supplies.
• Serve as usher and assist with parking and transportation as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensure refreshments are available where legally allowed.
• Assist with visitations and funeral services, including setup and dressing of remains.
• Greet client families and provide information and assistance.
