Job summary

SCI in Memphis, TN seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, coordinate services, and help with visitations and ceremonies under supervision.

The role requires high school diploma, customer service experience, proficiency with MS Office, and a valid driver's license. You will assist with transporting items, setting up floral arrangements, preparing documentation, and ensuring smooth service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service and/or sales preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite; ability to learn databases.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, keepsakes; handles storage and care.
• Prepares service documents related to funerals and cremations as directed by management.
• Assists with dressing and handling remains and, where permitted, operation of crematory equipment.
• Performs office duties: answering phones, using multi-line system, invoicing, postage, and basic office tasks.
• Runs errands for deliveries and supplies; assists ushers and transport of families as needed.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups; assists with transportation and parking as required.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assists with visitations and funeral services: set up, dressing, casketing, delivery of family items.
• Greets clients entering the office and provides information and assistance.
