Job summary

sci is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support within funeral operations. You will greet client families, answer questions, and assist with services, visitations and ceremonies, while maintaining compassion and professionalism.

You’ll also handle office tasks and drive funeral home vehicles as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma and prior customer service experience; proficiency with MS Office and willingness to learn are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services including setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Prepares documents related to services and cremations as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains and operation of crematory as permitted by law and policy.
• Office duties including phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit machine, printer and postage.
• Run errands for supplies and flowers; delivery coordination.
• Usher duties and parking; transportation for families as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations and funeral services: setup, dressing, casketing, delivering family items.
