The role requires a four-year degree or equivalent, a valid state Funeral Director license with good standing, and a minimum of two years’ licensed experience, plus fluent English and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent in education, training and experience.
• Minimum two years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
• Valid and applicable state Funeral Director License; reciprocal across states and in good standing.
• Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Consult with client families to design services meeting end-of-life memorialization expectations.
• Present all merchandising and service options to families.
• Obtain information for required documents such as obituaries and death certificates.
• Coordinate service arrangements with clergy and others participating in the funeral service.
• Oversee staff and ensure professional representation at the location.
• Prepare the deceased including dressing and casketing.
• Direct and usher families to and from the service location.
• Arrange and coordinate transportation of remains as needed.
