Job summary

Terrace Park Funeral Home in Kansas City is seeking a licensed Funeral Director to lead the preparation and execution of funeral and memorial services. You will consult with families, coordinate with clergy and staff, and ensure all aspects of services align with client wishes.

A four-year degree, valid Funeral Director license, and strong empathy are required; proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
• Valid and applicable state Funeral Director License; reciprocal across states and in good standing.
• Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Consults with client families or legal representative to design services meeting end-of-life wishes.
• Present all merchandising and service options to client families.
• Obtain information for death certificates, obituaries, burial permits, and insurance.
• Coordinate service arrangements with clergy and others participating in the funeral.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct visitations and services.
• Supervise staff and ensure professional representation of the location.
