Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer to facilitate funeral arrangements, manage embalming and preparation of remains, and coordinate ceremonies with families and legal representatives. You will ensure regulatory compliance and provide compassionate service.

The role requires on-call duties, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office; you will also oversee contracts, payments, and aftercare support as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
• Current Funeral Director and Embalmer licenses in the practicing state, or able to reciprocate.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-call duties: receive families, answer questions, provide initial details, and coordinate transfers.
• Supervise and care for the deceased with respect while embalming, dressing, and preparing remains.
• Arrange funeral and memorial ceremonies in line with policies.
• Negotiate funeral contracts and handle related legal documents and payments.
• Coordinate interment or cremation and ensure compliance with licensing and regulations.
• Provide aftercare by supporting families when a Family Service Counselor is unavailable.
• Maintain accurate documentation for services, cremations, and maintenance.
