Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a Funeral Director & Embalmer in Alabama to lead funeral arrangements, coordinate cremation or interment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will manage family discussions, contractual details, and documentation with empathy and professionalism.

The role requires state licensure, a current driver’s license, and the ability to supervise embalming, setup, and ceremony logistics while maintaining the company’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
• Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the practicing state, or able to reciprocate.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives.
• Positive attitude, a drive to continually advance the industry and be self-motivated.
• Ability to build professional and trusting business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-call responsibilities, including taking first calls, talking with families, answering questions, and transfers.
• Supervises and cares for the deceased with respect, including embalming, dressing, cosmetics, and preparation of remains.
• Arranges and conducts funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized and caring manner.
• Negotiates and enters into funeral contracts; handles legal documents and payments per policy.
• Ensures client families are informed of veterans services and other recognitions.
• Ensures compliance with licensing regulations and company policies.
