The Village of St. Edward is hiring a full-time Cook to join our Dining Services team in Ohio.

The role covers all aspects of food preparation, from prep to serving residents, with emphasis on preparing meals from scratch and maintaining inventory. We value a kind, reliable team member who has at least one year of cooking experience, ideally in a nursing home or hospital setting, and who can follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of cooking experience is required.
• 1 year of nursing home/hospital cooking is preferred.
• ServSafe certification is required or training to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (weights, temperatures, fractions).
• Ability to measure solids and liquids according to recipe specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals from scratch in accordance with recipes and menus.
• Handle all aspects of food preparation including prep, cooking, baking, slicing and roasting.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with portion control.
• Serve meals to residents as needed and support dining services.
