Job summary

The Village of St. Edward in Ohio is seeking a committed Cook to join our Dining Services team. This not-for-profit organization emphasizes a compassionate environment and Christ-centered care, with a focus on supportive, resident-centered service.

Responsibilities include all aspects of food preparation from scratch, inventory control, and serving residents as needed. Requirements include high school or equivalent, one year cooking experience, ServSafe or training within 3 months, and reliable

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • One year of cooking experience.
  • One year experience in Nursing Home/Hospital type setting as a cook preferred.
  • ServSafe required or paid training to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations, i.e. weights, temperatures, fractions, measurements, etc.
  • Able to measure solids and liquids according to recipe specifications.

  • Handle prep, cooking, baking, slicing, roasting, etc.; all aspects of food preparation.

Job description

Every other weekend: 5am-1:30pm, also cross trained for the 11am-7:30pm shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Cook is responsible for all aspects of food preparation including; prep, cooking, baking, slicing, roasting, etc. in accordance with state regulations. Will prepare meals from scratch and keep accurate inventory control. May serve to the residents to meet operational needs.

Requirements:
  • High School education or equivalent
