Job summary

Service Corporation International provides administrative and clerical support to funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories or combinations. You will greet the public, provide information on services, and process documents to meet client needs with empathy.

The role requires 1-2 years in a clerical/customer service role, a high school diploma, strong communication, organization, and confidentiality. Located in US-IL - Machesney Park with hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in an office clerical or customer service capacity.
• Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares death certificates, prayer cards and related documents.
• Completes required permits and/or certificates.
• Receives and processes payments and contracts.
• Coordinates the ordering of memorials and related products and the control of storage inventory.
• Assists with the preparation of obituaries and payroll as needed.
• Greets family members and responds to customer inquiries via telephone, internet and in person.
• Acts as backup to Receptionist and maintains confidentiality.
