Job summary

Lifepoint Health's North Alabama Shoals Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time mid-shift position emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced team setting.

The RN will collaborate with experienced providers to deliver timely treatments, monitor patient conditions, and support families while pursuing ongoing professional development. North Alabama Shoals Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a nationwide healthcare network

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Two-three years of experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
